Shell Dock Boat Ramp

Our Environmental Scientists successfully obtained Section 10/404 Individual Permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District for the Shell Dock Boat Ramp in Portland, Texas. The project required a wetland delineation and jurisdictional determination for the boat ramp and parking lot expansion areas in order to then develop a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit application to authorize impacts to waters of the U.S. Due to the type of project activities and impacts, the project could not be authorized under a nationwide permit and was elevated to a Section 10/404 Individual Permit. Nicole Guigou, PhD, led coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the 30-day public notice and subsequent response to comments and information requests and Christine Magers, CWB, led informal coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Marine Fisheries Service regarding potential impacts to protected sea turtles. They worked diligently alongside the coastal engineers and the City of Portland to obtain the federal permit as expeditiously as possible.
