Bob Hall Pier Replacement

Our Gulf Coast team successfully obtained a Section 10/404 permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District for Nueces County to rebuild and improve Bob Hall Pier, an iconic North Padre Island landmark. Nueces County hired our team to provide environmental and regulatory services and coordinate with the project engineers to develop suitable permit drawings and impact calculations. We conducted surveys to collect jurisdictional boundaries essential for the development of permitting plans, compiled the permit application, and provided continuous regulatory assistance to address public notice comments and information requests from multiple federal and state agencies. We also coordinated closely with the project engineers to revise permit drawings per USACE requirements and led consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service to address potential impacts to swimming and nesting sea turtles as well as their nests. During this project several members of our team were added to Nueces County’s scientific permit for protected sea turtles and birds. In addition to the Section 10/404 permit our team also obtained approval of a No Dune Protection Permit required for the project.
